After a brief exchange, you soon realize you are suffering from amnesia of the events prior to the conflict. ![]() This event is what mankind calls “the Awakening,” and marked the first encounter with these demons who attempted to advance from the north. Ten years have passed since the time the Oni first appeared in Yokohama, destroying most of the world along with them. There’s no time to play around - you have a job to do.Īfter being spirited away by the Oni following a battle with a giant beast, you wake up in Mahoroba Village, having been saved from a passing professor and her machina partner who found you in the forest. It’s a great way to show the immediacy of danger the world is dealing with while also teaching many of the important systems of the game. Right off the bat, Toukiden 2 throws you right into the action as one of the special units fighting to protect the Yokohama port that is under attack from the intimidating Oni. Was it able to accomplish all the things it set out to do? While the original entry was based around a single hub, developer Omega Force went on an ambitious effort to rapidly expand the scope of the game to make it far more dynamic in nature. ![]() KOEI did a really fine job including a large variety in the first game.Toukiden 2 looks to do something the Monster Hunter series has yet to do (outside of its Frontier, but I’m not counting that) - go open world. I'd have to think really hard about which mitama I would like to see added. will probably all be there again, if they don't just outright include all the mitama from the last game. Heroes like Taira no Masakado, Yoshitsune, etc. I meant to say that Toukiden 2 will probably include all the SW mitama as well as other big names. ![]() I personally used Iemitsu and Gozen myself. I don't see it being exclusive to the sword and shield weapon. If it really is a Mitama ability/style though, wouldn't it kill the unique ability of Kusarigama and other aerial-capable weapons?what makes Toukiden weapons unique is the distinct difference between ground weapons and aerial weapons, having a Kusari Gama-like mitama will end up generalizing playstyles then, since Clubs, Spear, Fist, and the big sword can all now go aerial, and that's just the melee class, i guess it would be even more broken for the ranged weapon like the Rifle if you can rain grenades while zipping around Onis like it was AOT. All in all, it's a nice 's not Devil Trigger, it's Devil Bringer, your Capcom-fu is still lackingīack to the topic, honestly dunno, maybe it's mitama gimmick, but they never had mitama actions during the previous games's cinematics even though it's literally the most important thing in the game, story wise, so the chances of it being the weapon's gimmick is also high Shö wrote:Do you guys think the magic blue grapple totally not Devil Trigger is a new Mitama ability or just a new gameplay mechanic?
